Whitney & Cordell -- Portraits

Words don't even come close to expressing how wonderful this couple is!! I met Whitney through a mutual friend here in Clarksville and we became very, very close. We bonded over the deployment (both our husbands were deployed at the same time) and our love for Jesus, dogs, reading, cooking, and dessert--and lots more, but those are the main things! Last December Whitney and her husband moved to another post, and even though it was heartbreaking to watch my best friend move away from me, the opportunity to move to where they did was wonderful, and it has brought them many blessings.

They asked me to take some photos of them and their sweet puppies, Maddie & Ivan at the apartments they had made so many memories at. It was so fun to practice my photography with two people I love so dearly! We lost a little bit of time (and light) after Cordell suggested we go down to the creek to snap a few photos, which ended up as a fairly advanced hike over rocks and tree branches, hence this photo:

It was a blast, though! They are tremendously wonderful people, and so much fun! I miss having them in the same town, but they remain a huge part of my life, and it's so wonderful to look back at these photos.

Oh my!! I just love them! Whitney is currently 9 months pregnant with their first son, Asher. Trust me when I say I cannot wait to take their next set of family photos!!

I love you both!

Mandy -- Maternity

I had the privilege of taking these photos for my dear friend Mandy last December. Yes--Seriously! At the time I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to make photography my career. Was it worth it? Did I love it enough to make that serious decision? It's been almost a year, and I think I have finally decided that yes, photography is where I want to take my career! I'm very excited about it, but I know that I still have plenty to learn before I can actually call Jessica Hevner Photography an official business. For now it remains a serious hobby that I hope to one day develop into a wonderfully fulfilling profession!

My photography has come a long way since taking these photos for Mandy. Looking back at them I smile to myself because I'm catching things that I did wrong, or editing that wasn't quite up to par to where it is now. But I still remain very proud of these images. Mandy's beautiful daughter is turning 1 this coming January, and I can't believe it was only last December that she wasn't even here with us yet!

Ryan & Vanessa -- Family Portraits

Even though the weather is terrible outside here in Clarksville, we are still graced with the occasional sunny day from time to time. Thankfully that happened the day after Thanksgiving! At a last minute whim, I went out to Dunbar Cave with Ryan & Vanessa and their adorable twin boys Liam & Ezra, who just turned one! We were able to get some great outdoor pictures of them when otherwise that wouldn't have been able to happen on their scheduled date. Here is some of the adorableness that is the James family:

I love how they look like little men in this picture!

How cute is this family?!

Ezra was very pleased with his stick!

Those boys are so fun! Unfortunately, Ryan & Vanessa are moving to Germany very soon. Even though I'm saddened that we didn't get to know each other sooner, I am so excited for their new life! Ryan & Vanessa - Travel safe! I'm so glad I got to know you, and that I was able to take these for you. Good luck with everything! I'll be praying for your new journey!
